The history and culture of the Drôme region at your fingertips

The Public Establishment for Cultural Cooperation (EPCC) Châteaux de la Drôme was created by the Drôme Department to promote and share its rich castle heritage.

Created in 2011, the EPCC now manages three iconic sites:

• Grignan Castle, an architectural gem of the 17th^e century in which the famous Madame de Sévigné resided and died.

• The castle of Suze-la-Roussean imposing medieval fortress resembling a Renaissance palace.

• The castle of Montélimar, a historical monument overlooking the city and offering an exceptional panorama of the Rhône valley.

The Department acquired these three castles successively, between 1947 and 1955 for Montélimar, in 1965 for Suze-la-Rousse and in 1979 for Grignan.

A strong commitment to culture and tourism

The EPCC Châteaux de la Drôme is committed to:

• Preserve and restore These historical monuments are for future generations.
• Animating the sites by offering guided tours, educational activities or cultural events throughout the year.
• Promoting access to culture for all audiences, by offering attractive prices and mediation activities.
• Develop tourism in Drôme, relying on these essential sites.
